Uncertainty Looms Over Ironi Modi’in’s Management as Felix Halfon Negotiates Future Direction

Uncertainty Ends for Ironi Modiin?

In a recent development concerning Ironi Modiin, sources have revealed that if former player Felix Chalfon, along with the Modiin-Maccabim-Reut Municipality and the “Sahlavim” organization, do not reach a tangible solution in the coming days, the “Municipal Sports Association of Modiin” will take over the management of Ironi Modiin. This association has been responsible for overseeing the club since its establishment in 2009.

Negotiations and Market Response

Last week, reports indicated that Felix Chalfon, who runs a soccer school in Bat Yam, is in discussions to manage Ironi Modiin. Responses to this news have been significant, with both parties confirming that negotiations are ongoing. Notably, no bids were submitted for the management rights of Ironi Modiin, encompassing both the senior team and the youth department, which is an important revenue generator.

Should Chalfon or the municipality decide to halt negotiations, the existing association managing the club since 2009 will immediately assume control. Meanwhile, efforts will continue to identify a suitable platform to take over the club or portions of it, ensuring orderly operations.

Financial Oversight and Future Goals

Addressing financial oversight is critical as Ironi Modiin prepares its adult team for the upcoming national league. Should the team need extensions from financial oversight bodies, Ironi Modiin will pursue those requests. The primary aim is to expedite this transition to improve the professional aspect of the team, including hiring a coach, staff, and players who can propel Modiin forward in the national league.

It is important to highlight that the association managing the football club was established in 2008 and reported total revenue of approximately 7.5 million shekels in 2023, as per data from the Ministry of Juststart. Since 2020, the financial resources available to the association have increased. For the 2023 season, prior to the release of 2024 data, the association finished the year with a surplus of 64,557 shekels.

As negotiations and potential transitions unfold, all eyes will be on the future of Ironi Modiin and its aspirations in the national league
