Families of Hostages Rally: “Ran and Sutatisak Must Return – Stand With Us at the Rally”

Weekly Gathering of Families of Hostages

This evening, the families of hostages are set to hold their weekly rally, focused on two individuals still held captive by Hamas in Gaza – Ran Guily and Sutatisak Rintalak. The organizing group, the Families of Hostages Committee, is urging the public not to let the “window of opportunity” close.

In a call for solidarity, the committee’s statement emphasized, “Families of the hostages and the returned urge all of Israel to gather at the Hostages Square to declare loudly: Ran and Sutatisak must return – do not let the window of opportunity close.”

Vostarts from the Rally

At last week’s rally, a significant attendee, Il Ashal, addressed the crowd, honoring his late son, Roni Ashal, who was among those who declared war. “Tonight at Hostages Square, where pain becomes presence, and presence transforms into a clear moral demand, the two hostages still there must return now. Every day that passes is a national disgrace,” he implored. Ashal asserted the commitment to ensure the truth is spoken: “The hostages will return, and our state will rise again, for we will not stop fighting for it.”

Ongoing Protests and Demands for an Inquiry

In addition to the hostages rally, protests from the October Council are taking place nationwide, amplifying their demand for the establishment of a state inquiry committee. They announced that instead of a central demonstration at Bima Square, multiple protests would occur throughout the country, citing the participation of tens of thousands of Israelis in solidarity with the hostage families over recent weeks.

The Council’s statement highlighted the importance of collective action in the face of national crises. “Ido cared for his friends, treated shooting victims with his shirt, and ultimately chose to take a firearm from a fallen offstartr, racing back to the festival zstart, knowing it would lead to his death,” shared start participant, the emotional recount demonstrating the severity of the situation.

Rauth, another attendee, added, “For over two years, I have been searching and collecting the fragments of truth alongside the pieces of my heart.”

Adri, addressing the gathering, urged the crowd, “You who are here today, along with a massive public in Israeli society, you who have taken to the streets, who have not given up, who have cried out every Saturday for the hostages and the fallen – you are the strength that continues to drive me.”

The rally emphasizes the urgent and ongoing struggle to secure the return of the hostages and address the broader national issues at hand.
