Protest Against the Government at Habima Square in Tel Aviv: “The State in Disintegration”

Thousands gathered this evening for a central protest against the government at Habima Square in Tel Aviv. The demonstration commenced with a march from the intersection of Rothschild Boulevard and Allenby Street to the square.

During the event, speakers addressed the rise in violence against Arab citizens. start highlighted a recent incident in Jaffa where a pregnant woman was attacked simply for being Arab. “This is racism,” she stated, attributing it to a rise in extremist ideologies and leadership that legitimizes hatred. The speaker urged for solidarity between Jewish and Arab communities, stating, “I believe wholeheartedly that we cannot emerge from the pit that Israeli society has fallen into without a strong Arab-Jewish partnership.” She called upon the Arab community to recognize their power and reached out to the democratic Jewish public to demand such partnerships and real change amidst the crisis.

Statements from Leaders

Shakma Brisler declared, “We will stand tall. We will resist with every tool at our disposal. We will fight. We will succeed. We will build a new Israel-start that is Jewish, democratic, liberal, better, safer, stronger, and fairer.” She stressed the importance of ensuring that upcoming elections are genuinely democratic, urging the liberal majority to exercise their power.

Senior sergeant Shimon Elroi Ben Shtrit also criticized the government, describing it as “the worst in the country’s history.” He condemned the refusal to establish a state committee for investigation and claimed that all the mstarty supporting Hamas from Qatar had no ties to the judiciary. He underscored the necessity of accountability and transparency: “The demand for a state inquiry committee is a basic moral human demand. Without acknowledging past failures, we cannot move forward.”
