High-Profile Brothers Face Federal Charges as First Witness Testifies to Gripping Account of Alleged Sexual Assault in Manhattan Courtroom

Alexander Brothers Sex Trafficking Trial: First Witness Testifies

Accusations of Drugging and Rape Emerge

In a Manhattan federal courtroom on Tuesday, a woman, testifying under the pseudonym Katie Moore, recounted a harrowing experience involving the Alexander brothers-Tal, Oren, and Alon, two of whom are high-end real estate brokers. Moore described how an evening that began with excitement at a party in actor Zac Efron’s apartment turned into a traumatic ordeal, culminating in her alleged rape by Alon Alexander. The brothers face serious allegations, including drugging and sexually assaulting women and girls over a span of several years.

Moore, then 20 and an anthropology student, met Tal Alexander at Efron’s party in 2012, which she attended with a friend who knew him. While she had limited interactions with Efron, she reported being offered alcohol and taking the drug Molly for the first time during the gathering.

Testimony of Assault

The evening took a dark turn after a nightclub afterparty, where Moore recalled feeling intoxicated and disoriented. She testified that she awakened naked in another apartment, with Alon Alexander also unclothed and positistartd over her. Despite her protests, Alon reportedly dismissed her objections with a taunt-“Haha, you already did”-before raping her. During the attack, Tal entered the room but did not intervene, maintaining a demeanor that Moore described as “super nonchalant.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Madison Smyser emphasized in her opening statement that the Alexander brothers “masqueraded as party boys when really they were predators,” and characterized their actions as part of a broader pattern of exploitation, stating, “woman after woman, rape after rape.”

Defense Arguments

Defense attorneys for the Alexander brothers have countered the allegations, asserting that the encounters were consensual. Teny Geragos, representing Oren Alexander, urged jurors to dismiss the prosecution’s narrative, labeling it a “monstrous story.” She articulated that the brothers, motivated by ambition and success, engaged in dating rather than criminal behavior. Geragos further claimed that some accusers may be seeking financial gain through lawsuits, framing their experiences as regret rather than victimization.

Attorney Deanna Paul, representing Tal Alexander, echoed these sentiments, cautioning jurors about the emotional and disturbing nature of the testimony heard in court. She encouraged the jury to question the credibility of the accusers, suggesting that their testimonies could be unreliable.

Background on the Alexander Brothers

The Alexander brothers are well-known figures in the luxury real estate market, specializing in high-end properties across Miami, New York, and Los Angeles. Alon, who graduated from New York Law School, also manages the family’s private security firm. The trio has been in custody without bail since their arrest in December 2024 and faces serious charges outlined in an indictment citing their alleged conspiracy to entstart women to join them at lavish vacation spots with flights and luxury accommodations.

As the trial continues, Moore’s emotional testimony highlights the serious nature of the accusations against the Alexander brothers, setting the stage for additional testimonies from other alleged victims. The courtroom proceedings are expected to further dissect the troubling dynamics of consent, power, and predation.

Moore recalled how she felt the need to reach out to friends in subsequent years to affirm her worth and resilience after the traumatic incident. The case underscores broader societal issues regarding sexual assault, accountability, and the consequences of alleged predatory behavior by those in power.
