Understanding the Qualification System

The top eight teams have guaranteed their positions in the Round of 16. In contrast, the clubs finishing in places 9-16 will be seeded in the playoff stage, benefiting from a more favorable draw against teams ranked 17-24 and earning the right to host the second leg of their playoff matches.

Teams entering the playoffs will be divided into four groups of four based on their standings, then drawn against teams from the remaining ranks. For instance, a team finishing in 9th or 10th will face a team finishing in 23rd or 24th, and so on.

The seeding system will also apply in the Round of 16, with the eight directly qualified teams enjoying the advantage of hosting the second legs against the playoff winners.

Upcoming Draws and Match Dates

The playoff draw is scheduled for Friday, January 30, at 13:00 in Nyon, Switzerland. The first leg of the playoff matches will take place on February 17 and 18, while the second leg will follow a week later on February 24 and 25.

After determining the full list of teams advancing to the Round of 16, another draw will occur on February 27 to outline the path to the Champions League final. The first matches of the Round of 16 are set for March 10 and 11, with the second legs occurring on March 17 and 18.
