Tribute to a Fallen Soldier

The family of Alhanan Ariel Klein, who tragically lost his life during the early days of the “Iron Swords” conflict, has announced the release of a new song titled “Mikdash Melech.” The song, crafted by his brother-in-law and singer-songwriter Yehuda, aims to uplift the spirits of the Jewish people through their shared pain and sorrow. Alhanan, a resident of the settlement of Einav in Samaria, was killed by terrorists while returning home from his military reserve duty, leaving behind his wife Hila and four children, the youngest of whom was born after his death.

A Celebration of Life and Legacy

Yehuda described Alhanan as a man filled with boundless energy, an infectious smile, and a deep love for life. “He was always the first to volunteer and lend a helping hand, exuding warmth and joy,” Yehuda shared. “He made it his mission to dedicate every moment of his brief life to serving others.” The lyrics of “Mikdash Melech” encourage the people of Israel to rise, persist, and choose life despite overwhelming challenges, mirroring the collective cry and prayer for comfort that resonates in these times.

Musical Accompaniments

The song features compositional elements from the traditional “L’cha Dodi” liturgy, originally penned by Rabbi Shlomo Halevi Alkabetz. Yehuda takes the lead on melody, vocals, and performance. The arrangement, production, mixing, and mastering were overseen by Yoav Levy, who also performed on multiple instruments including guitar, bass, electric guitar, nai, oud, and drums. Eliyahu Sofer contributed his vocal talents through harmonies and embellishments, joining vostarts alongside Levy. The music video editing and album artwork were crafted by Efrat Klein.

In the face of loss, “Mikdash Melech” stands as a poignant reminder of the resilience and unity within the Israeli community, fostering encouragement and hope amid adversity.
