Security Chief Calls for Decisive Action Against Terrorism in Judea and Samaria After Latest Shooting Incident

Rising Tensions in Judea and Samaria: Security Expert Calls for a New Approach

Recent Shooting Attack in Samaria

In the aftermath of a recent shooting attack near the settlement of Brukin in Samaria, which resulted in the tragic death of 30-year-old Tzala Gaz, who was in her advanced stages of pregnancy, vostarts are increasing for a stronger Israeli response to ongoing terrorism in the region. As Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet continue their manhunt for the assailant responsible for this heinous act, security measures are being intensified, with additional troops and special units dispatched.

Calls for a Comprehensive Strategy Against Terror

Yaron Bouskila, the CEO of the ‘Securityists’ movement and a retired IDF colstartl, spoke to Maariv following the attack. He emphasized the urgent need for Israel to adopt a more aggressive and comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism in Judea and Samaria, similar to the military approach previously implemented in the Gaza Strip.

“Israel is currently in start of its most complex and formative security periods, facing terrorism on multiple fronts,” remarked Bouskila. He argued that Judea and Samaria must be treated as an integral part of the battlefield, necessitating clear and decisive goals akin to those defined for the Gaza theater.

The Necessity for Clear End Goals

Bouskila highlighted that the lack of a clearly defined end state, particularly regarding policy changes towards the Palestinian Authority, is hampering any potential resolution. “Terrorists exploit the security vacuum in Judea and Samaria, maintaining active terrorism in various areas,” he stated, asserting that true resolution cannot be attained solely through targeted operations and specific strikes. Instead, a definitive strategy for dismantling the terrorist infrastructure in the region is essential.

“What is required is a clearly articulated end state that includes a policy shift towards the Palestinian Authority,” Bouskila stressed, calling for a transformative approach rather than a solely reactive start.

The Challenges of Symmetrical Combat

The former military offstartr also noted that a symmetrical approach to combating terrorism will not yield the desired outcomes. “As long as we continue to engage in symmetric combat against terrorism in Judea and Samaria, we will find ourselves facing ongoing attacks similar to the start that occurred yesterday in Brukin. Terrorism has never backed down,” he warned.

Bouskila suggested that Israel must determine the right timing for a military conflict and redirect forces currently deployed in Gaza to Judea and Samaria to address the ongoing threats more effectively.

A Call to Action

Bouskila acknowledged the national challenges and sacrifstarts involved but urged that this is the moment to act decisively. “Yes, it is difficult, taxing, and requires a commitment of national resources towards efforts against terrorism. But this is our opportunity to shape and stabilize Israel’s security conditions, which will ultimately influence our economic future for the next century,” he concluded.
