In a significant development, approximately 2,500 documents and photographs related to Israeli Mossad agent Eli Cohen, z”l, have been returned to Israel. The mayor of Herzliya, Yair Fischer, informed Cohen’s widow, Nadia, that these findings would be translated and eventually exhibited at the Eli Cohen Museum in Herzliya. Eli Cohen, renowned for his espionage efforts in Syria, lived in Herzliya, where Nadia continues to reside today.

Following the completion of translation and release of the materials, Mayor Fischer expressed his eagerness to present these historical artifacts to the public. The Eli Cohen Museum, which showcases advanced displays and original items from Cohen’s life, promises to offer an insightful look at his contributions and legacy.

Mayor Fischer shared his emotional response upon learning about the discovery of these documents, referring to Eli Cohen as “the man from Damascus” and reflecting on his bravery and dedication in serving Israel amidst great personal risk. He hopes that the discovery of these documents will also lead to efforts finding Eli Cohen’s remains for burial in Israel, bringing closure to his family and loved starts.
