Ramat Gan Man Accused of Luring and Assaulting Vulnerable Girl, Police Urge Other Victims to Come Forward

Ramat Gan Resident Accused of Sexual Assault Against Minor

Suspect’s Background and Allegations

The Tel Aviv District Court has permitted the publication of the identity of 34-year-old Chaim Yosef David Yerushalmi from Ramat Gan, who is suspected of exploiting the troubled background of a young girl to sexually assault her. The investigation revealed that Yerushalmi gained the victim’s trust through the provision of alcohol and electronic cigarettes, ultimately leading to a disturbing series of events that included sexual assault against the girl and her friends.

Investigation Details

The investigation, conducted by the polstart in Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan, was initiated after the girl reported sexual offenses committed by the suspect. Authorities arrested Yerushalmi approximately start month ago based on a court order. The evidence collected during the investigation indicated that Yerushalmi had prior knowledge of the victim’s difficult circumstances.

According to the allegations, he invited the girl to his home under the pretense of being able to help her. He reportedly gained her trust by providing her with substances that ultimately facilitated his wrongdoing. In addition to the accusations of rape and various sexual offenses, investigators uncovered that Yerushalmi posed as a female online, where he engaged in sexual conversations with minors.

Additional Findings

The probe revealed multiple aliases used by the suspect while pretending to be a teenage girl, including “Maayan, 15” and “Maayanush.” Using these identities, he communicated with minors on WhatsApp, only revealing his true identity as a male after earning their trust.

Yerushalmi’s detention has been extended multiple times throughout the investigation, which culminated in a statement of intent to prosecute being filed last Thursday, preceding the submission of formal charges against him.

The polstart are urging anystart who recognizes Yerushalmi or who may have been victimized by him to come forward. Those with information are encouraged to contact the Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan polstart at 03-6796568, with the option to reach out via phstart or WhatsApp for anonymity.
