Daniel Rever Joins Olympiacos, Making History in EuroLeague

A Remarkable Career Move

Daniel Rever, a prominent player for the Israeli national basketball team, has officially signed with Olympiacos for the upcoming season, marking a significant mileststart in her career. At 29 years old and standing 1.83 meters tall, Rever will become the fourth Israeli woman to compete in the EuroLeague, following in the footsteps of Liron Cohen, Katya Abramzon, and Shay Doron.

Previous Highlights and Performance

Over the past two years, Rever has played in the Australian league, making a notable impact. Last year, she had an extraordinary season with Elitzur Ramla, leading the team to a championship victory before moving to the Cockburn Cougars in Australia’s off-season league. Her performance during that season was impressive, averaging 15.2 points, 4.7 assists, and 9.7 rebounds per game. In the recent off-season, she upped her game further, averaging 18.4 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, showcasing her prowess with a remarkable 57% shooting percentage from the field.

However, her journey in the Australian WNBL saw her face challenges, as her stats reflected a drop with averages of 4.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in her first year in the top league.

Current Achievements

Just a month ago, Rever returned to the Cockburn Cougars for another short summer season, where her performance has drawn attention. Recently, she had a standout game against the Eastern Suns, scoring 30 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and making 5 steals, which earned her the title of Player of the Week. Across six games with Cockburn, she has averaged 21.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3.7 steals per game.

The Signing Process

The connection between Rever and Olympiacos was facilitated through the Spanish agency Prodep and Israeli agent Ronny Lupo. Reflecting on her signing with the prestigious club, Rever expressed her excitement, stating, “I am very thrilled to join such a big club. Playing in the EuroLeague has been my goal since I was a young player. Especially after a year in the WNBL in Australia, I am happy to have the opportunity to reach new heights in my career.
