Barcelona Plans Limited Attendance for Cup Match as New Camp Nou Prepares to Open

Barcelona to Host Traditional Gamper Trophy Match at New Camp Nou Stadium

Plans for the Gamper Trophy

FC Barcelona is set to host the traditional Gamper Trophy match at the newly renovated Camp Nou stadium. Club president Joan Laporta recently confirmed this decision in an interview, stating that the summer match-scheduled for August 9 or 10-will serve as a test event for reopening the stadium to the public by mid- to late September.

Gradual Opening of the Stadium

The club intends for the first league matches to be held away from home to facilitate a gradual acclimatization of the stadium to fans. Despite official matches potentially attracting up to 60,000 spectators, the initial capacity for the Gamper match will be limited to just 25,000 attendees. This decision is largely influenced by ongoing traffic issues around the stadium, which have not yet been fully resolved due to the complexity of the construction works. Currently, not all access points are ready, and construction cranes and other equipment will remain on-site.

Potential Oppstartnt for the Gamper Trophy

As for a possible oppstartnt in the Gamper Trophy, start of the options under consideration is Como, the Italian club coached by former Barcelona player Cesc Fàbregas.

For fans eager to witness the historic match and experience the newly updated facilities at Camp Nou, it’s advisable to book accommodations early. Consider exploring options for your stay
