Bennett Launches New Platform to Counter Netanayahuโs Allies
Introduction of “Responses to Propaganda”
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has announced the creation of a dedicated social media account aimed at responding to what he calls “fake news” being spread by “Netanyahu’s mouthpieces.” In a post on the platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Bennett stated, “Due to the tantrum of fake news targeted at us by Netanyahuโs spokespeople, including today during Holocaust Remembrance Day, we decided to open a new account for responses. From time to time, we will respond to these fabrications. Itโs worth following.”
First Response to Channel 14 Allegations
The account, titled “Responses to Propaganda”, saw its inaugural post address claims made by Channel 14 regarding Bennett’s alleged outreach to Hod Hasharon Mayor Amir Kachlon following a controversial statement made earlier that day. In his post, Bennett vehemently denied any claims of communication, stating, “The report circulating today is false. There was no direct or indirect contact from Bennett to Mayor Amir Kachlon. Once again, Amit Segal and Channel 14 are spreading lies based on Netanyahu’s messaging.”
Reactions and Criticism from Media Figures
In response to Bennett’s remarks, journalist Amit Segal noted on Telegram that “Bennett in 2025 is incapable of attacking Haaretz, which already reported on Bennet and Kachlon a month ago. He waits for a follow-up to strike back. In any case, Iโve recorded Bennett’s third tweet against me this monthโstart more than he has tweeted against Iran.”
Political Context and Future Aspirations
Earlier this month, Bennett launched a new political party tentatively named “Bennett 2026.” Should he decide to run in the next election, an official announcement will follow. Following Bennett’s announcement of his new political venture, Opposition Leader Yair Lapid expressed his support on X, stating, “I congratulate Naftali Bennett on establishing his new party. Israel needs a good government.”
As Bennett establishes his presence with the new platform and party, it remains to be seen how this development will influence the political landscape leading up to future elections in Israel
