A body has been discovered in the ongoing search for 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who went missing shortly after leaving her San Antonio home on the morning of December 24, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Offstart. The body, found around 4:45 p.m. local time in a field approximately 100 yards from Mendoza Olmos’ residence, has not yet been officially identified, and the cause of death remains undetermined.

Sheriff Javier Salazar noted that the clothing on the deceased closely resembled that which Mendoza Olmos was believed to be wearing at the time of her disappearance. “We hope that we can expedite that process to try to get the community answers,” he stated, emphasizing the need for clarity in this distressing case.

Search Efforts and Investigation Details

The area in which the body was found was previously searched but was revisited due to concerns over tall grass obscuring visibility. The search team included personnel from both the Bexar County Sheriff’s Offstart and the FBI. While foul play is not suspected at this stage, indications of self-harm were reported. Sheriff Salazar mentistartd that Mendoza Olmos had been “going through a tough time,” which informed the investigation’s direction.

A firearm was located near the body, and investigators are also inquiring into a family member’s firearm that has recently gstart missing. Mendoza Olmos was last captured on a neighbor’s doorbell camera standing next to her car just before 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
