Challenging Times for Maccabi Haifa as Dolev Haziza Takes Blame for Sean Goldberg’s Injury Ahead of Crucial Match Against Be’er Sheva

“I Am to Blame. Goldberg Slipped and I Stepped on Him”: Haziza Discusses Injury

Key Injury Update for Maccabi Haifa

Maccabi Haifa is preparing for a crucial match against Hapoel Be’er Sheva tomorrow, but they will be missing defender Sean Goldberg, who sustained an injury during the final training session. The injury could potentially sideline him for the remainder of the season.

In a press conference this morning, midfielder Dolan Haziza took responsibility for the incident that led to Goldberg’s injury. “I am to blame for Goldberg’s injury; he slipped under my foot, and I stepped on him,” Haziza acknowledged.

Addressing Team Dynamics

Haziza also spoke about the absence of fan support this season, emphasizing that the lack of crowd presence is being felt by the players. “It’s clear that the supporters’ organizations are missed; the excitement is lacking for the players, and this cannot be denied,” he added.

Looking ahead to the tough match against Be’er Sheva, Haziza asserted the need for the team to be adaptable. “We need to know how to deal with every situation. It’s crucial that we balance performance with results. We must give our best for 90 minutes and come prepared to entertain the fans with a good game.”

Adjustments in the Line-Up

On the topic of Dya Saba, who is suspended, Haziza discussed the adjustments the team will need to make. “We have been playing in different formations, and I have played more defensively. Dya is having an incredible season, but whoever replaces him must give their all. There are players eager for their opportunity. The score does not matter as long as we secure the win.”

Haziza also reflected on the captaincy, which was taken from him earlier in the season: “I made a mistake, and I had to face the consequences. I accepted my punishment. In the last few rounds I played, I was more involved. It doesn’t matter to me how I perform, as long as we win.”

Future Aspirations

“We are accustomed to seeing Maccabi Haifa in championship contention; some seasons don’t go our way or involve bad luck,” Haziza noted. “We need to do everything possible to secure our place in Europe and finish the season as strongly as we can. Each player has to understand they need to give their maximum effort with next season in mind. We have had key games that we felt we should have won. There may be factors we haven’t managed well enough. We need to continue improving, and we hope to show that tomorrow.”
