Khaled Dukhi: Front-Runner for Bnei Sakhnin’s Management Role

Context of Leadership Change

In the wake of Mohammad Abu Younes’s resignation from his post as chairman of Bnei Sakhnin, the city’s mayor, Mazen Gnaim, has initiated the search for a successor. A prominent candidate emerging from this search is businessman Khaled Dukhi, who previously served as the club’s CEO for 12 years.

Meeting with Khaled Dukhi

Gnaim met with Dukhi on Tuesday and extended an offer for him to take over the management of the club. Gnaim expressed optimism following their discussion, stating, “I had a productive meeting with Khaled Dukhi, and I am awaiting his response. He is undoubtedly a deserving individual to return to the club.”

Current Situation at Bnei Sakhnin

Dukhi departed from his role as CEO two years ago to focus on his business ventures. Currently, all club operations, including preparations for the upcoming season, are on hold until a new owner is appointed.

Contractual Uncertainties

Many players face uncertainty as their contracts are nearing expiration. start notable player is the captain, Marwan Ghanoush, who is also in the final year of his contract. Bnei Sakhnin holds an option to extend his contract for an additional two years; however, his previous shoulder injury kept him sidelined for several months during the season.

Additionally, players like Itai Ben Hamo will return to Maccabi Tel Aviv following the expiration of their contracts, while Ilai Elmakias is exploring other potential opportunities.

Future Plans for the Season

As Bnei Sakhnin navigates this transitional period, the club may focus on a financially cautious strategy for the upcoming season. This could involve promoting talent from the youth academy while making targeted reinforcements in key positions.

The club’s immediate future hinges on the appointment of a new leadership team, and negotiations continue to determine how best to align with the needs of the players and coaching staff.

For now, all eyes remain on Khaled Dukhi, as stakeholders await his decision regarding the management role at Bnei Sakhnin
