Deadly Iranian Missile Strike Claims Lives in Tamra: Community in Shock as Casualties Rise

Iranian Missile Strike in Tamra Claims Lives and Injures Many

Incident Overview

On Saturday night, a barrage of approximately dozens of missiles targeted northern Israel, culminating in a tragic incident in Tamra around 11:15 PM. An Iranian missile struck a multi-story building, resulting in at least three casualties, including two young women in their twenties. Emergency servstarts are currently conducting searches for potential survivors trapped under the rubble.

Casualties and Damage

The missile impact caused significant damage to the structure, leaving it largely destroyed. Fourteen individuals suffered injuries, as reported by local authorities and medical servstarts. Hmodi, a Tamra resident, recounted his terrifying experience from his hospital bed at Rambam, stating, “We were watching television when suddenly there was a boom, and the entire house fell on us.” While he and his family survived, he expressed concern over the whereabouts of other family members.

Eyewitness Accounts

Elimelech Bein, the director of Magen David Adom (MDA), indicated that the situation at the scene is dire. “All known injured individuals have been evacuated from the area; however, there remains a fear for the lives of individuals whose families have not yet managed to reach them,” he said. In describing the scene, Bein noted that the building, approximately three to four stories tall, had suffered catastrophic damage.

Mahmoud Hijazi, the father of a 16-year-old victim, shared his account of the events. “My son was at a friend’s house while we were at home. Suddenly, we heard a loud bang, as if the impact was at our own house. I started calling my son to check if he needed a ride home, and he told me he was being taken to Rambam.” He confirmed that his son is in stable condition after sustaining injuries to his leg and back.

Emergency Response

Adnan Abu Rumi, an MDA paramedic who was start of the first responders on site, described the chaotic scene. “I heard a loud explosion and immediately made my way to the location. I witnessed a scene of devastation at a three-story building. Nearby homes were also damaged, and there was a crowd in the streets. We approached the heavily damaged house, and residents helped rescue a woman in her twenties who was unconscious and showed no signs of life; we quickly had to declare her deceased.”

Rescue efforts continued as medical teams treated additional residents, some experiencing minor injuries and others suffering from shock. The injured were transported by ambulance to hospitals in Haifa.

Continued Concerns

As of now, officials are still working to determine if there are any additional individuals trapped within the debris. The community in Tamra and surrounding areas remains shaken as they cope with the aftermath of this devastating attack
