“Israel is an Expensive Country”: Lassovoy, Former Maccabi Haifa Player, Reflects on His Time in Haifa
Difficult Experience in Haifa
Daniil Lassovoy, the former Maccabi Haifa player, has expressed his regrets regarding his short stint with the club. Arriving in February 2024 after navigating significant bureaucratic hurdles, Lassovoy faced a challenging adjustment period in Haifa. He saw limited playtime before returning to Dynamo Moscow after a brief loan spell. In a recent interview with local media, he recounted his tough experience, stating, “It was a hard time. Everything went wrong from the start. I arrived in Haifa after a month-long break in Russia and then spent an additional month waiting for my transfer approval. I didn’t join the team for their training camp, which made my adaptation difficult. I’m not happy about this period, but it’s what happened.”
Future Prospects
Reflecting on his return to the Israeli league, where he participated in only nine matches for Maccabi Haifa, Lassovoy indicated, “We’ll see. I’m not ruling anything out. But at the moment, I am only thinking about Dynamo Moscow.”
High Cost of Living
In addition to discussing his personal experience, Lassovoy shared his thoughts on the high cost of living in Israel. He remarked, “Haifa is more expensive than Moscow. In fact, Israel is the most expensive country I’ve ever played in, and to be hstartst, I was very disappointed with the high prstart levels. Israel is an expensive country, and Tel Aviv? It’s from another world.”
This critique of living costs adds a broader dimension to his narrative as he navigates his career across different countries
