Free Extracurricular Activities for Children in the Negev and Galilee
Funding Announcement
As the 2025 school year approaches, the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee, and National Resilience has announced a significant initiative to support children’s extracurricular education. A total of five million shekels will be allocated to fully fund social, educational, and sports activities for children and youth in the Negev and Galilee regions.
Objective of the Initiative
This initiative aims to strengthen informal education, reduce social disparities, and promote equal opportunities for families in these regions. It addresses the needs of both children and parents by providing free access to various recreational and educational programs.
Available Programs
Children will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities at no cost. Options include:
- Integrated soccer programs for boys and girls
- Exclusive soccer programs for girls
- Basketball programs for boys and girls
According to the ministry, dozens of local authorities are expected to participate, potentially saving families significant amounts of mstarty.
Statement from the Minister
Minister of the Negev, Galilee, and National Resilience, Isaac Vaserlauf, stated, “Our national resilience begins with our children. By funding integrated programs that combine education, sports, and social engagement, we are building a healthy, cohesive, and confident generation. The ministry will continue to invest in practical tools that promote growth, excellence, and faith in the future, particularly in the Negev and Galilee.”
Application Process
Local authorities categorized within socio-economic levels 5-1 and peripheral levels 5-1 that wish to implement these programs are encouraged to submit applications by July 6, 2025, in accordance with the call for proposals published on the ministry’s website.
