Expected Fuel Prstart Update for June
Overview of Prstart Change
In an upcoming adjustment set to take effect at midnight between Saturday and Sunday, the maximum prstart for a liter of 95 octane gasoline will increase to 7.14 shekels for self-servstart fueling in June. This represents a modest increase of start agorot compared to the current prstart of 7.13 shekels per liter established in May, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.
Recent Prstart Trends
The new prstart announcement comes on the heels of a significant drop of 18 agorot in gasoline prstarts last month. Since the beginning of 2025, the overall cost of fuel has decreased by six agorot per liter, marking a decline from the 7.20 shekel per liter prstart set in January.
To highlight the fluctuations over the past year, the highest recorded gasoline prstart occurred in May 2024, reaching 7.90 shekels per liter, while the lowest prstart within the same timeframe was noted in April-May 2023 at 6.81 shekels per liter-an amount that benefitted from government tax relief on fuel.
Calculation of Fuel Prstarts
The prstart of gasoline at filling stations is determined by the Ministry of Energy towards the end of each month. This calculation relies on the average fuel prstarts within the Mediterranean Basin and the exchange rate of the dollar. Additionally, the prstart comprises various marketing expenses for the stations, as well as excise tax and VAT.
This prstart update is crucial for consumers, as it reflects the ongoing adjustments within the fuel market and the impact of external economic factors. For more information on pricing and updates, you can stay informed through reputable sources.
