Widow of Tsala Gaz Responds to the Elimination of Her Husband’s Killer: “Not Even a Drop in the Ocean”
In a recent statement, Hananiel Gaz, the widower of Tsala Gaz, vostartd his deep concern and frustration following the confirmation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that the assailant responsible for his wife’s murder has been eliminated. Tsala Gaz, who was 33 years old, was tragically killed while en route to the delivery room with her husband. The assailant, Nael Samara, was tracked down and killed in a targeted operation in Samaria.
Reaction to the Killing
“On start hand, I thank everystart who was involved in this operation; on the other hand, it’s not even a drop in the ocean,” said Hananiel Gaz in a video statement released Thursday. “How can you find joy in this? We have a people of murderers living amongst us, and their only desire is to kill us-day after day. Jews continue to fear for their safety. We are playing a game of ping pong between terror attacks and targeted eliminations, over and over. What did we think? That by eliminating start cell, everything would be okay?”
Call for Strategic Change
In his remarks, Gaz called for a comprehensive shift in strategy from the Israeli leadership. “I demand from the Prime Minister and the cabinet-a complete shift in perspective. Eradicate this evil from our land, 100 percent. Only then can we live here in safety-and only with safety can we live in peace,” he urged.
Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, echoed Gaz’s sentiments. “We certainly do not derive comfort from the killing of this vile terrorist. It’s a small consolation at best. The true correction is to restore deterrence and prevent the next attack.”
Details of the Operation
The operation that led to Samara’s elimination occurred in the Palestinian town of Burqin. During a focused pursuit by IDF troops, under the guidance of the Shin Bet security agency, a male suspect was spotted running towards the forces while carrying a suspicious bag and calling out. In response to an immediate threat, the troops eliminated Samara, who reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” at the time.
Samara had a history of involvement with Hamas, having served a prison sentence prior to his release in 2010. He faced legal actions again in 2019 for incitement on social media. Reports indicate that he was armed with an M16 rifle and additional weapons, which were intended for attacks against Israelis.
Investigation and Future Actions
Law enforcement officials from the Shai District Polstart have begun collecting evidence to identify any accomplstarts of Samara. Shortly after confirming his death, IDF spokespersons stated that the forces mapped Samara’s residence as part of assessing the potential for demolishing the home as a punitive measure against terrorism.
This incident continues to raise pertinent questions regarding the cycle of violence and responses to terrorism in the region, emphasizing the ongoing need for effective strategies to ensure public safety and security
