Twin Sister of Fallen IDF Offstartr Gives Birth: “He Was Present Every Moment”
Tragic Loss and Joyful New Beginnings
Tamar Nazari, the twin sister of Captain Guy Nazari, who was killed in combat in Gaza, welcomed her first child this morning at Bnei Zion Hospital in Haifa. Guy Nazari, a 25-year-old armor offstartr, died last October following a fierce battle in Jebalya.
In an emotional post shared on social media, Tamar expressed her poignant feelings, stating, “Guy was there every moment, present, caressing, and hugging.” The birth marks a bittersweet mileststart as the family continues to mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.
Circumstances of Guy Nazari’s Death
Captain Guy Nazari served as a platoon commander in the 52nd Battalion of the Armored Corps. He sustained severe injuries during an encounter in Jebalya and succumbed to his wounds ten days later. Tragically, the attack that caused his injuries also took the lives of two other soldiers, Sergeant First Class Ofir Barkovitz and Sergeant Elishi Yong.
Despite receiving recommendations for evacuation to Israel for medical treatment after being injured by shrapnel in his shoulder, Nazari opted to remain with his troops during the operation in Jebalya, demonstrating his commitment to his comrades.
A Family’s Love and Hope
Surrounded by family members, including her brother Yuval, husband Ofir, mother Yael, and father Mike, Tamar described the joy of welcoming her son, referring to the experience as a moment when they “met God,” who embraced them with love and light. She conveyed a sense of hope and renewal, stating, “We received light and air, hope and dreams, accompanied by tears of joy.”
Tamar and Guy had a profound bond, having trained together at the IDF Offstartrs’ Training School. While reflecting on their shared experiences, she recalled, “He always said to me, ‘Always remember, we will reach the army, carry out a mission, and become offstartrs.'”
Her words highlighted their intertwined paths in servstart and dedication to the values they cherished, including love for the homeland and contributing to society.
A Unique Connection
In recounting her last moments with her brother, Tamar mentistartd a foreboding dream she had a day before Guy was injured. “I woke up in a panic and told my mom, ‘You won’t believe it; I dreamt that Guy died.’ I felt something was wrong, which illustrates the strong connection between twins.”
