Heatwave Alert: Rising Temperatures Set to Bring Intense Humidity Across Israel This Week

Severe Heat Expected This Week: Full Forecast Ahead

Temperature Rise Forecasted

A significant rise in temperatures is expected today, with a heavy heatwave set to descend on most regions starting tomorrow. However, this upcoming heat is anticipated to be less intense and shorter-lived compared to the start experienced last Saturday. In Jerusalem, temperatures are projected to reach 36°C, and in the Arava region, they may soar to 45°C.

Weekly Weather Overview

After a week of pleasant weather with temperatures around seasonal averages, an intense heatwave is predicted for the upcoming week. The forecast indicates that on Monday, a sharp increase in temperatures will occur, leading to the heavy heat conditions. Despite the rise, this heatwave will not break any records.

Today’s Weather

Today’s weather will be partly cloudy to clear with increasing temperatures, particularly in the mountains and inland areas, where conditions will become hotter than usual, nearing oppressive heat levels. Tonight, the skies are expected to clear partially. Coastal areas may experience reduced visibility due to possible fog.

Tomorrow’s Expectations

  • Negev: 42°C
  • Jordan Valley and Arava: between 44°C and 45°C

The weather along the coastline will be milder, offering some respite from the heat.

Temperature Trends

This heatwave is expected to be short-lived; a significant drop in temperatures is anticipated on Tuesday, returning conditions to seasonal norms. A slight further decrease is expected on Wednesday, with similar temperatures maintained until Saturday, when another warming trend is predicted. After the severe heat on Monday, no additional heatwaves are expected on the horizon.
