Heavy Fighting Erupts in Gaza: IDF Air Force Conducts Rescue Operations Amidst Escalated Clashes

Heavy Fire Exchanges in Gaza: Air Force Assists in Evacuating Wounded Soldiers

Overview of Recent Clashes

Heavy exchanges of fire have erupted in multiple areas of the Gaza Strip starting this afternoon. The clashes are part of ongoing military operations, and reports indicate that a reservist soldier from Battalion 5250 of the “Iron Fist” Brigade sustained serious injuries. The wounded soldier was evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva for treatment, and his family has been informed of the situation. He was reportedly injured during an encounter in the Tel Sulitan area, resulting from an RPG attack. Additionally, two other soldiers were injured but with less severe wounds.

Military Operations and Air Support

During these engagements, the Israeli Air Force was called to assist in evacuating the wounded while conducting “umbrella” strikes to support ground forces. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are operating in increasingly populated areas, which has led to escalating encounters, echoing recent days’ experiences.

Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, responded to the incidents, stating, “Thousands of IDF soldiers, both regular and reservists, are currently fighting valiantly in Gaza for the liberation of hostages and the destruction of Hamas operatives. The IDF is acting decisively, providing comprehensive protection for maneuvering forces from the air, land, and sea while accompanying operations with heavy equipment to neutralize threats.”

Katz emphasized the significant challenges and risks involved, urging the Israeli public to support the commanders and soldiers of the IDF during this perilous time.

Warnings to Local Residents

In parallel to military actions, IDF spokesperson Avichai Adraee issued warnings in Arabic to residents of the neighborhoods of Shajaiya, Al Turkman, Ajdida, and northeast Zaitoun, advising them to evacuate due to planned heavy strikes by the IDF in these areas.

International Response

In a related development, U.S. President Donald Trump stated in a briefing that he had spoken with Prime Minister Netanyahu regarding the situation in Gaza. He expressed the importance of easing the humanitarian situation in the region, stressing the need to provide food and medical supplies to Gaza.

As the conflict continues, the situation remains fluid, and developments will be monitored closely.
