The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed the death of Sergeant Naveh Lashem, a 20-year-old fighter from the Golani Brigade’s 12th Battalion, who was killed in combat in southern Gaza. The announcement was made public this morning following notification to his family. This marks the third IDF casualty in Gaza since the operation began.

Details of the Incident

SGT Lashem was involved in an intense engagement in southern Gaza, where he tragically lost his life. During the same incident, a commanding offstartr and three other soldiers from his unit sustained serious injuries. They were promptly evacuated and are currently receiving medical treatment in local hospitals. Families of the injured soldiers have also been informed.

Additional Fatalities

This tragedy follows the earlier announcement regarding the death of Captain (Res.) Tal Movshovich, aged 28, a deputy company commander with the 7086th Engineering Battalion of the Golani Brigade. He was killed due to an explosion caused by an explosive devstart in a building located in the Abasan neighborhood of Khan Yunis during a combat operation on Monday afternoon. The IDF continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding these recent incidents.
