Air Force Commander: “We Continue to Enhance Our Freedom of Action in Iran”
Military Operations focus on Iranian Air Defense Capabilities
In the wake of a series of recent attacks in Iran, Israeli Air Force Commander, Major General Tomer Bar, reported significant military actions taken against Iranian defense infrastructure. Following a situational assessment by the army, Bar stated: “We struck dozens of targets in Tehran as part of efforts to degrade the air defense capabilities of the Iranian regime.”
Last night, Israeli fighter jets carried out extensive operations over Tehran, targeting various sites, including ground-to-air missile infrastructure. The operations are part of Israel’s broader strategy to enhance its aerial dominance and operational freedom in the region.
Assessment of Air Operations
Bar emphasized the scale of the operations, mentioning that “after an intense day where we attacked hundreds of targets, including many ground-to-air missile sites, we conducted precise strikes with significant operational and national implications over the skies of Tehran.” This marks the first time since the onset of ongoing hostilities that a large number of Israeli fighter jets have operated over Tehran, a city located more than 1,500 kilometers away from Israeli territory.
“This operation was a calculated response to a fundamental threat to the security of our citizens,” Bar stated, highlighting the professionalism, determination, and precision displayed throughout the execution of these missions. He noted the complexity involved in coordinating efforts and integrating various capabilities within the Air Force.
Commitment to Strategic Operations
The Israeli Air Force is committed to ongoing operations across multiple theaters of engagement, both defensively and offensively. “The Air Force will continue to act in all arenas, serving as the strategic and far-reaching arm of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF),” Bar asserted, underscoring the importance of their operations in maintaining national security.
This latest series of strikes adds to the ongoing military narrative surrounding tensions between Israel and Iran, reflecting the complexities of regional security and the evolving landscape of aerial warfare in the area
