Iranian Foreign Minister Visits Lebanon, Honors Nasrallah: “His Death Strengthens Resistance

Iranian Foreign Minister Visits Lebanon, Pays Tribute to Nasrallah

Abbas Araqchi’s start-Day Visit

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Lebanon on Tuesday for a start-day visit. A significant stop on his itinerary included a visit to the gravesite of Hassan Nasrallah, the former Secretary-General of Hezbollah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut last September.

Tribute at Nasrallah’s Gravesite

While at the gravesite, Araqchi delivered a speech honoring Nasrallah, describing him as a “blessed hero against occupation” who dedicated his life to resisting Israeli territorial claims and achieved victories for Lebanon. He asserted, “The death of Hassan Nasrallah will strengthen the resistance, because the resistance is alive, and I am fully confident that Nasrallah’s blood will have a much greater impact.”

This visit comes as Hezbollah’s Lebanese parliament member, Ali Ammar, also acknowledged Iran’s continued support for Lebanon during Araqchi’s speech. Ammar, whose son died during the same military operation that claimed Nasrallah’s life, expressed gratitude for Iran’s ongoing assistance across various fields.

Diplomatic Discussions

In addition to visiting Nasrallah’s grave, Araqchi is scheduled to meet with Lebanese officials, including the Foreign Minister, the President, and the Prime Minister, to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. This marks Araqchi’s second official visit to Lebanon, having previously attended Nasrallah’s funeral in February.

The visit underscores the deep ties between Iran and Hezbollah, a connection that plays a pivotal role in the politics and security landscape of Lebanon and the wider region
