Alon Sherid, representing Israel, earned a bronze medal in the men’s epee event at the opening day of the U23 European Fencing Championships. Competing out of the “School of Fencing” club, Sherid showcased remarkable skills throughout the tournament.

Sherid began the competition strong, achieving four victories in the group stage. These wins secured him a spot among the top 64 fencers in the event. He first defeated Lithuanian fencer Gleb Chaikovsky with a score of 15-5.
Elimination Rounds
Advancing to the round of 32, Sherid faced off against Swiss fencer Tao Bruchard, winning narrowly with a score of 15-12. He demonstrated further prowess in the round of 16, overcoming French fencer Horlène Vasquez with a score of 15-8.
Quarterfinal Dominance
In the quarterfinals, Sherid exhibited dominant performance, defeating Piotr Urban from Poland with a convincing score of 15-5, propelling him into the semifinals.
