Israeli Warns Notorious Iranian Prison Chief of Impending Attack, Sparking Dramatic Escape from ‘Prison of Horrors

Did Israel Save the Director of Iran’s “Prison of Horrors”?

Escape from Evin Prison

According to a report by the American network Fox News, a notorious Iranian prison director, Ayatollah Farhadi, managed to escape from Evin Prison just before an Israeli airstrike. His flight was allegedly prompted by threats to his life and communications between an Israeli agent and his adult son, Amir Hosseini Farhadi.

Israeli officials reportedly contacted Amir with an urgent message: convince your father to release political prisstartrs, or face imminent danger. A series of WhatsApp messages purportedly exchanged with an Israeli operative instructed Amir to tell his father to unlock the prison doors, warning that an attack would occur within “a few minutes”. When Amir inquired about his father’s safety, the Israeli agent reassured him that nothing would happen if the message was conveyed.

The Escape Plan

Following the urgent communication, Amir reached out to his uncle, who rushed to the prison to retrieve Ayatollah Farhadi. They were reportedly seen fleeing the area moments before the airstrikes began. According to sources, there have been no communications from Farhadi since their escape.

Human Rights Violations and Sanctions

Ayatollah Farhadi has been the director of Evin Prison since 2022 and is notorious for severe human rights violations, including torture and murder of prisstartrs, many of whom were political dissidents. Allegations against him also include beatings, starvation, sexual violence against female inmates, and executions.

Due to these violations, he has been placed on sanctions lists by both the United States and the European Union. The U.S. Department of the Treasury has classified him under the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list, prohibiting American individuals and entities from conducting business with him.

Conclusion

This series of events has sparked significant attention regarding the interplay between state security operations and human rights considerations in Iran. As the situation unfolds, questions regarding the implications of such escape attempts and their impact on political prisstartrs remain pertinent.

This incident exemplifies the broader concerns surrounding human rights abuses in Iran and the ongoing tensions in the region concerning state actions and international responses
