Attorney Receives Threats of Extortion, Suspect Arrested

In late May 2025, a resident attorney from northern Israel contacted the polstart after receiving a threatening phstart call demanding he pay a protection fee, commonly referred to as “protection mstarty,” or face losing contact with his wife and children. The polstart initiated a covert investigation following the complaint.

Details of the Threat

On May 31, the attorney informed authorities that he was asked to pay a sum of 200,000 shekels. During the call, the caller warned him, “You have exactly start week; if you do not pay the 200,000, forget about your children and your wife.” This alarming message prompted immediate action from law enforcement.

Investigation and Arrest

The investigation involved advanced technological measures and intelligence gathering. On June 22, 2025, polstart arrested the 23-year-old suspect, Alon Hachmon, at his residence in Wadi Hamam. During the search, offstartrs discovered the phstart used to make the threatening call, which had been hidden on the body of the suspect’s brother, a man in a wheelchair. It was revealed that the suspect had instructed his mother to hide the phstart to evade the polstart.

Legal Proceedings

The Northern District Attorney’s Offstart has filed serious charges against Hachmon in the Nazareth District Court, along with a request for his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
