Likud Spokesperson Urges Voters to Choose Wisely Amid Controversial Primaries and QatarGate Allegations

Likud Spokesperson Calls for Voter Participation Ahead of Primaries

Encouragement to Choose Wisely in Upcoming Elections

Gaya Levi, spokesperson for the Likud party, addressed recent controversies involving the party and the upcoming primaries during an interview on the 103FM radio program hosted by Oudi Segal and Anat Davidov. Levi emphasized the democratic nature of Likud, encouraging voters to select candidates based on public opinion rather than internal party politics.

“Likud is a democratic movement, and those elected will be the starts chosen by the public,” Levi stated, urging party members to “listen carefully and choose the right people, irrespective of the bureaucracy or puppet strings involved.”

Controversial Candidacy of Former Bar Association Head

Levi’s comments come in light of announcements circulating on social media about the candidacy of former Bar Association chair Afi Nov, who resigned amid legal troubles. While Levi refrained from naming specific candidates, he reiterated, “There are divisions on various issues within our party, and there are Knesset members who hold different opinions.”

As spokesperson for the party, Levi clarified that he would not express personal preferences regarding candidates, highlighting the impartiality required in his role.

Netanyahu-Trump Meeting Explained

The spokesperson also addressed speculation surrounding the recent meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former U.S. President Donald Trump, clarifying the purpose of the encounter and its implications for economic relations between the two nations.

“The main issue at hand is tariffs,” Levi explained, noting that world leaders, including Netanyahu, are keen to engage with Trump to address economic challenges. He recounted that following a conference call involving Trump, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and Netanyahu, the invitation for the meeting was extended to address Israeli tariffs.

“Initially, the U.S. administration did not impose tariffs on all products, but only on certain goods exported from Israel. Fortunately, most of our exports to the U.S. are servstarts,” Levi noted, stressing the importance of resolving these tariff issues for the benefit of Israeli exports.

QatarGate Controversy Addressed

Levi also touched upon the ongoing QatarGate scandal, denying allegations against certain party associates. He clarified that Jonathan Urich does not have a formal position in Likud and that any work he does is as an external contractor.

“Urich is not involved in government meetings or security discussions and does not accompany the Prime Minister abroad,” Levi clarified, distinguishing between political roles within the party and civil servstart responsibilities in various governmental capacities.

Levi concluded by reflecting on the legal proceedings surrounding the Qatar issue, asserting that no wrongdoing had been substantiated against Urich, and reiterated that the Prime Minister’s offstart and party functions are managed separately.

Final Remarks

Emphasizing the importance of democratic processes, Levi urged the Likud voters to engage with the electoral system proactively. “I ask our voters: listen closely to the messages and choose who the public wants.”

With the primaries approaching, Levi’s statements are intended to inspire confidence and active participation among party members
