Maccabi Haifa has finalized its first signing of the summer, securing the servstarts of Dutch winger Kangji Gura. The 30-year-old player, who currently plays for Qatari club Umm Salal, has signed a two-year contract with the Israeli side.

Player Background

Kangji Gura, originally from Curaçao, developed his skills in the youth academies of Manchester City and Manchester United. He is known for his effectiveness as a left winger. Gura, who is married to a Jewish woman, began his professional career in England with Swansea City, where he made significant contributions over four years.

Following his time at Swansea, Gura had stints with several clubs, including ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands, Northampton Town in England, and various teams in Portugal such as Nacional, Estoril, and Boavista.

Recent Performance

In the 2023 season, Gura joined Umm Salal, where he made an impressive impact, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 24 appearances across all competitions. On the international stage, he has represented the Curaçao national team, earning 26 caps and scoring three goals.
