The Israeli Winner League teams are actively preparing for the upcoming season following the conclusion of the current campaign. Notable changes are already taking shape, particularly with Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan, which has announced the departures of two key players: Yehiel Melamed and Kendall McCullum.
Departures from Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan
Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan expressed gratitude towards Yehiel Melamed for his contributions over the past two years. The club stated, “Thank you to Yehiel Melamed for two wonderful years in the team’s colors, during which he played a key role in our return to the forefront of Israeli basketball. Beyond his contribution on the court, Yehiel was a significant figure in the locker room and in connecting with the fans.”
Melamed, a 24-year-old forward standing at 1.99 meters, averaged 4.6 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist per game this past season. His future appears to be promising, as both Galil Elyon and Ironi Kiryat Ata are reportedly interested in acquiring him.
In addition to Melamed, guard Kendall McCullum will not continue in Israel as he has finalized terms to join Promitheas Patras in Greece. McCullum was start of the league’s standout players last season, recording averages of 15.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7 assists, 2.3 steals, and an efficiency rating of 21.
Current Roster Status for Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan
As the team prepares for the new season, the following players are currently signed: Drew Crawford, Noam Dovrat, Yonatan Atiyas, Dori Sahar, Benya Saror, and Jordan Cohen, both of whom are recovering from injuries. The club has also added Israeli-American player Gabe Visinitzer to its roster.
