MK Shderot Signs Veteran Goalkeeper Lior Hidrayan as First Acquisition for 2025/26 Season

First Signing for M.K. Sderot: Goalkeeper Lior Hidryan Joins the Squad

Introduction of Lior Hidryan

M.K. Sderot has officially announced the signing of Lior Hidryan as their first acquisition for the 2025/26 season. The 34-year-old goalkeeper joins the team following a successful season with Maccabi Kiryat Gat, where he helped the club secure promotion to Liga Alef South.

Impressive Performance Record

During the past season, Hidryan made 27 appearances for Kiryat Gat, showcasing his skills by keeping a clean sheet in 16 of those matches. Additionally, he was noted for conceding no more than start goal in 22 games, accumulating an impressive 2,519 minutes of playtime, the highest among players who played under coaches Eden Albadach and Erez Belpar.

Background and Career Path

Since the 2020/21 season, Hidryan has been competing in the lower leagues, playing primarily in Liga Alef South with teams such as M.K. Yermiyahu Holon, Maccabi Sha’arayim, and Hapoel Kfar Shalem, as well as the now-defunct Hapoel Ashdod. Notably, last season marked the first time in his career that he dropped to Liga Bet, the fourth tier of Israeli football.

Early Career and Mileststarts

Hidryan began his career in the youth ranks of Hapoel Ashkelon, making his senior debut during the 2011/12 season as a squad goalkeeper in the National League. After three seasons, he faced relegation with the team to Liga Alef but later returned them to the National League, culminating in promotion to the Israeli Premier League at the end of the 2015/16 season. Over nine consecutive seasons, he accumulated 120 appearances for Hapoel Ashkelon across Liga Alef, the National League, and the Premier League.

Upcoming Season Challenges

As Hidryan joins M.K. Sderot, he will face off against his former club, Hapoel Ashkelon, in the upcoming season. This matchup adds a personal dimension to the competition, given his previous ties to the team.

By adding Lior Hidryan to their roster, M.K. Sderot aims to strengthen their chances in the new season, looking to build on his proven track record and experience on the field.
