National Security Minister Ben-Gvir Prays for Hostage Rescue and New Shin Bet Chief’s Success at Temple Mount on Jerusalem Day

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir Ascends to Temple Mount: “Praying for the Success of the New Shin Bet Chief”

Minister’s Visit on Jerusalem Day

On the morning of May 26, 2025, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the Temple Mount to mark Jerusalem Day, accompanied by members of his party, Otzma Yehudit. They included Minister of the Negev, Galilee, and National Resilience, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, and Knesset member Yitzhak Kreutzer.

Ben-Gvir addressed the gathering, expressing his joy at the presence of many Jewish visitors at the Temple Mount. “Today is a festival for Jerusalem,” he stated. “It is a pleasure to see so many Jews at the site. By the grace of God, we can pray and bow at the Temple Mount today- we thank the Almighty for that.”

Prayers for Hostages and Security Success

The minister emphasized that his visit was both a celebration and a solemn occasion. He noted, “We are here to pray for the safety of the hostages-may they all return home safely, marking a victory in our ongoing conflict.”

In his remarks, Ben-Gvir also extended his prayers for the new Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief, urging him to effectively identify friends and foes. “May he pursue our enemies vigorously, as he has throughout his career-professionalism is key. Those who are friends are embraced, and the enemies are fought against. Good luck, Zini,” he concluded.

This visit comes amid heightened concerns regarding security and ongoing conflict in the region, reflecting the complex dynamics surrounding Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.
