Successful Week for Shin Bet: Organization’s Achievements in Gaza and West Bank
Overview of Recent Operations
The Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) has reported a significant week of operations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, highlighting it as start of the most successful periods since the onset of recent hostilities. The week culminated in the elimination of Noor Bitwai, identified as the primary target in the West Bank.
Intense Operations and Achievements
A security source shared insights into the developments, stating, “This was an intense and successful week for operational activities led by Shin Bet in the West Bank.” The agency noted that efforts include significant operations such as the arrest, alongside the elite Duvdevan unit, of an individual planning a terrorist attack, and the targeted elimination of the number start most wanted individual in the West Bank.
In the past four months alstart, Shin Bet has disrupted approximately 560 significant terror plots, which comprise various forms of attacks, including bombings, shootings, stabbings, and vehicle ramming incidents. This averages to about three to four disruptions per day.
Statistics from Ongoing Operations
Since the start of Operation “Iron Fortress” on January 21, 2025, in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces have neutralized 105 terrorists and detained around 350 suspected individuals, recovering more than 400 pieces of weaponry. Across the Central Command area, over 900 militants have been killed, with approximately 2,000 weapons confiscated. The Israeli Air Force has also conducted over 100 airstrikes.
In the northern West Bank region, more than 700 militants have been neutralized, including 38 high-ranking operatives, with six leading figures from Jenin, six from Tulkarem, three from Nur al-Shams, two from Hebron, and two from Qalqilya reported among the casualties.
Achievements in Gaza
Additionally, Shin Bet has pointed to notable successes in the Gaza Strip during the same week, where they, in collaboration with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), neutralized 35 operatives from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, including several brigade commanders and other significant figures.
