Building Character: Flores Reflects on Training Camp
All Players Fit After Successful Camp
Maccabi Haifa has returned to Israel following a training camp in Hungary, marking the first under head coach Diego Flores. In a post-camp interview with the club’s official website, Flores reported, “All players completed the camp healthy. It’s not self-evident when playing every three days without proper preparation; it can be risky. I’m pleased with the outcome against Győr. We pressed well and moved the ball effectively.”
Improvement and Aspirations
Flores shared his thoughts on the training camp’s impact: “The players adhered to our training program. We’ve improved in physical fitness, solidified team cohesion, and built character. It was a very good camp.” Team insiders commented on Flores’s meticulous approach, noting, “He pays attention to detail. There are aspects he is unwilling to compromise on. He emphasizes strength and mobility with and without the ball and held numerous video sessions.”
New Faces and Responsibilities
start of the new signings, George Yovanovits, made his unofficial debut during the camp. The forward has joined the team on loan from Basel, with an option to buy. He will be looking to fill the shoes of Dean David, who recently signed with a club in Japan.
Flores’s detailed focus and the camp experience are set to fuel Maccabi Haifa as they gear up for the competitive season ahead
