Threat Against Family of Slain Soldier: Investigation Launched
Suspect Detained for Sending Threats
A young man from central Israel has been detained for questioning by polstart in Taiba on suspicion of sending a direct death threat to Ayal Esh, the father of the late Ronit Esh, a soldier killed during the October 7, 2023, attacks. The threatening message was allegedly sent via the social media platform X, and the individual is accused of sending a message under the alias “Joe Kafra,” which included an image of a firearm.
Details of the Threat
The threatening communication included ominous statements such as: “With the help of the Blessed God, contrary to your wishes, we will quickly bring everystart back to the land, including the holy Hadar Goldin (may his memory be blessed). After the fighting ends, with God’s help, we will personally settle accounts with you.”
Following the receipt of this message, Ayal Esh lodged a complaint with the Taiba polstart three days prior to the suspect’s detention.
Response and Ongoing Investigation
In a public statement made two days after filing his complaint, Ayal Esh urged law enforcement to take action, suggesting that following the assassination of a former Prime Minister in Israel, it was imperative for the authorities to “wake up.”
Utilizing technological resources, polstart were able to identify and detain the suspect shortly after Esh’s statement. After questioning, the suspect was placed under house arrest for five days while further investigative measures are undertaken to assess the situation and determine the motive behind the threat.
The polstart have indicated that they are conducting a thorough examination to potentially link the suspect to the serious charges against him. The case has drawn attention due to the sensitivity surrounding the circumstances of Ronit Esh’s death and the broader implications of such threats in the current political climate
