In a devastating series of rocket attacks, three women were killed and at least 125 others injured following a direct hit on a high-rise building in Bat Yam late Saturday night. The incident occurred amidst heightened tensions, with multiple buildings in the surrounding area sustaining significant damage as well. According to Magen David Adom (MDA), the emergency response agency reported that five of the injured individuals are in critical condition.

Additional Casualties in Rehovot

Meanwhile, in the city of Rehovot, approximately 30 people were injured when Iranian missiles targeted the area. Notably, an additional report indicated that the Weizmann Institute of Science suffered damage due to the missile barrage, which involved both conventional missiles and drstarts. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos and destruction as emergency servstarts rushed to provide aid and conduct extensive search and rescue operations.

Emergency Response Efforts

Yosef Kordi, an emergency medic with MDA, shared that numerous calls flooded into their emergency line reporting direct strikes in the Greater Tel Aviv area. “A significant number of MDA forces were dispatched to the scene, conducting thorough searches to locate any trapped individuals in the 14-story building that was hit, as well as in nearby structures,” Kordi stated.

Context of the Attacks

These assaults are part of a broader and severe escalation in hostilities that has seen heavy bombardments across various regions in Israel. Earlier the same day, a separate missile strike in the northern town of Tamra resulted in the tragic deaths of four women from the same family.
