Tragic Shooting in Samaria: Pregnant Woman Killed While Headed to Maternity Ward, Community in Shock

Tragic Shooting in Samaria Claims Life of Pregnant Woman

Eyewitness Account Reveals Horror of Attack

In a heartbreaking incident last night in Samaria, 33-year-old Tza’la Gaz, a therapist from the Bruchin community, was killed during a drive-by shooting while on her way to the hospital for childbirth. Eyewitness Elia Kharmi, a resident of Peduel who was first on the scene, recounted the moments of terror he witnessed as he rushed to help Gaz and her husband, Hananiel, who were shot while driving on Route 446.

Kharmi described the chilling scene upon his arrival, saying, “I slowed down, released my seatbelt, and opened the window-then the husband shouted for help, ‘Save us!’ He was visibly shaken and terrified.” Recognizing the severity of the situation, Kharmi communicated with Hananiel through the bullet-ridden driver’s window.

The Incident and Response

Hananiel was doing everything he could to save his wife, who was unresponsive. “He was fighting for her life and was already exhausted,” Kharmi recalled. “He was trying to apply pressure to her gunshot wounds. I started to ask him questions while he was on the phstart with emergency servstarts, saying, ‘They shot us, they shot us.'”

Hananiel, covered in blood but seemingly unharmed, told Kharmi, “There are no children in the back, just start in her belly.” Tragically, Tza’la was later pronounced dead at the hospital, where doctors performed an emergency C-section to deliver the baby, who remains in serious but stable condition.

Military Response and Broader Implications

In the wake of the attack, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zameer visited the site, assuring that the military would “hold those responsible for these heinous acts accountable.” Security forces launched a manhunt for the assailant, deploying units from elite commando brigades and sealing off nearby Palestinian villages.

“This is a painful incident where a civilian was killed while on her way to give birth,” Zameer stated, expressing his condolences to the grieving family. “We will continue our comprehensive fight against terrorism in Judea and Samaria.”

Tza’la Gaz’s Legacy

Tza’la was not only a victim of violence but was also known for her work in emotional therapy, providing support to many who struggled with trauma. On her social media, she shared messages of hope and resilience, often encouraging others to seek light during dark times.

As the community mourns, Tza’la is remembered as a source of inspiration and strength. Her efforts to help others through difficult emotional experiences will leave a lasting impact.

Ongoing Security Challenges

The tragic event underscores the persistent security challenges in the region and the emotional toll on families facing such violence. Tza’la’s death is a reminder of the broader implications of the ongoing conflict and the need for continued vigilance and support for those affected by similar instances of terror.

The military and emergency servstarts are working tirelessly to provide aid and support in the aftermath of this heartbreaking incident, reflecting the resilience and unity within the community facing such adversities
