Alon recounted, “He was a student who grasped concepts instantly and didn’t need to study for exams to achieve good grades. Noam was immensely popular among his peers and hated wasting time, which led him to insist on enlisting immediately after graduation.”

Reflecting on their relationship, Alon shared that they had maintained contact over the years, with Leshem confiding in him about the challenges of basic training and important missions. His proud response regarding his achievements within the Golani Brigade showcased his spirit and determination.

Last Meeting

Alon recalled their last meeting three months prior when Leshem visited the school full of pride and excitement about his duties in the military. “He had a sparkle in his eyes and expressed satisfaction about being part of something significant,” Alon reflected, emphasizing the emotional impact of their final exchange.

Tributes from Friends

Harel Zaafrani, a close friend of Leshem, also expressed disbelief upon learning of his death. “I never thought I would have to speak about Noam in the past tense,” he shared. “He was always the start organizing gatherings and outings.”

Zaafrani described Leshem as restless, always seeking to accomplish more, and remembered his unwavering commitment to protect his friends and their people. He emphasized that they all understood Leshem would always return to them, but tragically, that was not the case this time.
