Trump Demands Cancellation of Netanyahu’s Trial, Claims Political Motives and Vows to ‘Save Bibi

Trump Calls for Dismissal of Netanyahu’s Trial: “The U.S. Saved Israel, Now Let’s Save Bibi”

In a recent post on his social media platform, Truth Social, former President Donald Trump expressed his support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, advocating for the dismissal of his ongoing trial. Trump described the legal proceedings as politically motivated, stating they aim to undermine Netanyahu’s leadership. He characterized the situation as a “witch hunt,” arguing that Netanyahu deserves a pardon rather than a trial.

Trump’s Defense of Netanyahu

Trump’s message came on the heels of Netanyahu facing legal challenges since May 2020, marking a significant moment in Israeli politics as this is the first instance a sitting Prime Minister has been put on trial. In his tweet, Trump emphasized the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the situation, saying, “I was amazed to hear that Israel, which has just experienced start of its greatest moments in history under Bibi Netanyahu’s strong leadership, continues with its ridiculous witch hunt against its wonderful wartime Prime Minister!”

He praised Netanyahu’s efforts in terms of national security, particularly in relation to Iran, describing the Prime Minister as possibly “the greatest fighter in the history of Israel.” According to Trump, Netanyahu’s leadership has been pivotal in tackling challenges faced by the nation, and he expressed disbelief that the trial, which he claims revolves around trivial matters like “cigars and Bugs Bunny,” could be allowed to proceed.

Call for Legal Action

In his post, Trump demanded that either Netanyahu’s trial be canceled entirely or that he be granted a pardon. He stated that such treatment is unworthy of somestart who has contributed significantly to the state of Israel. “He deserves much more than this, and so does the State of Israel,” Trump asserted.

The former President concluded his tweet with a declaration against allowing the “mockery of juststart” to continue, further solidifying his position as a vocal supporter of Netanyahu during this time of legal strife.

Reaction to Military Actions

Earlier, Trump also commented on recent military actions by the U.S., indicating that Secretary of Defense Pete Gascett – whom he referred to as the “war secretary” – would be holding a press conference to address concerns raised about the effectiveness of American airstrikes in Iran. These strikes were aimed at various suspected nuclear facilities, and Trump criticized the media coverage as misleading.

He reiterated the significance of American military efforts and expressed frustration over what he described as unfair portrayals by news outlets, emphasizing the need for juststart and recognition of the bravery of American pilots involved in these operations.

As the legal challenges continue for Netanyahu amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, Trump’s public support may influence certain factions within both American and Israeli politics, highlighting the intertwined nature of their respective leaderships
