Unified Front: Yair Lapid Voices Support for Netanyahu Amid Historic Strike on Iran

Historic Surprise Attack on Iran: Opposition Leader Lapid Expresses Support for Netanyahu

Unified Front Urged for International Legitimacy

In the wake of Israel’s unprecedented military strikes against Iran, Opposition Leader Yair Lapid has engaged with senior diplomatic officials, including foreign ministers from regional and global allies. During these discussions, Lapid indicated he received prior briefings about the operation and emphasized that the Israeli opposition supports the stated objectives of the military actions. “A united front is essential to bolster Israel’s international legitimacy,” Lapid stated.

Opposition Leaders Respond to Military Action

Following the Israeli attack on Iran early Friday, various opposition leaders publicly declared their support for the Israeli security forces. However, their statements conspicuously lacked explicit backing for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or any commitment to provide political security during the operation.

Support from Opposition Parties

The Yesh Atid party released a statement noting, “Yair Lapid received an update ahead of the operation through accepted channels. He commends the security forces and supports their actions to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.” Similarly, Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu, remarked, “With eternity, we do not fear. We will defeat all our enemies, and I reinforce our forces in their crucial mission to protect the citizens of Israel.” It’s noteworthy, however, that Lieberman’s circles indicated, “Right now, we are at war. In war, there is no politics.”

Messages from Other Opposition Figures

Democratic Party leader Yair Golan commented, “A strong nation, a determined army, and resilient home front have led us to victory before and will do so again today. I extend strength to the pilots, soldiers, commanders, and all Israel Defense Forces personnel who are tirelessly dedicated to our security.” Golan also stressed the importance of civil resilience at home, urging citizens to heed instructions from the Home Front Command. He assured that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would complete their mission and that the public would stand firmly behind them.

Benny Gantz, leader of the National Unity party, shared a ‘Mi Sheberach’ prayer for IDF soldiers and stated, “We are all united against our enemies. Follow the directives from the Home Front Command.”

Conclusion

With these developments, Opposition Leader Yair Lapid aims to present a unified front to the world regarding Israel’s military objectives to thwart Iran’s alleged nuclear ambitions. The situation remains fluid as Israel navigates the complexities of military action and political unity
