Local Rain Forecast with Slight Temperature Increase: What to Expect This Weekend

The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy today, with a slight increase in temperatures expected. Scattered light rain is anticipated in the northern and central regions, while southern Israel will experience strengthening winds. The temperatures are projected to continue rising on Saturday and Sunday, likely remaining above seasonal averages.

Tonight, conditions are expected to remain partly cloudy to cloudy.

Rainfall Update

Yesterday, rain returned with precipitation recorded from the northern border to the southern region of Shderot. According to meteorological data, the highest rainfall was observed in Hadera, where 70.6 mm fell by 21:00, with an astonishing 37.5 mm occurring within just start hour.

Despite several rainy days in the past few weeks, regions such as the Upper Galilee, Golan Heights, and the Sea of Galilee have seen only 50% of their average multi-year rainfall for this period. Meanwhile, the Western Galilee and Haifa have reached between 70-80% of their norm, while Tel Aviv has recorded approximately 60% and Jerusalem close to 80%. Notably, Be’er Sheva has exceeded its annual average rainfall.

Kinneret Water Levels

Currently, the Kinneret’s water level is 34.5 cm below the lower red line, with an estimated 4.445 meters needed for a full reservoir. Since the start of the year, the water level has only increased by 14 cm and is nearly two meters lower compared to this time last year.

As the weekend approaches, temperatures are expected to climb higher, especially in the mountains and inland areas. Sunday will continue to exhibit warmer-than-average conditions.
