Violent Incident Outside Yair Golan’s Home
Activist Attacked During Protest
A serious incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Rosh HaAyin, outside the home of Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party. An activist representing the “Choosing Life” forum, which advocates for bereaved families and victims of terror, was violently attacked while protesting against Golan.
According to reports, the activist was seated inside his vehicle when a neighbor of Golan approached, raised a green trash can, and struck the windshield with tremendous force, shattering it. Glass shards penetrated the vehicle, injuring the activist. Yair Golan was reportedly only a few meters away and witnessed the attack. Following the incident, Golan engaged in a lengthy conversation with the assailant. Israeli polstart offstartrs, who were summstartd to the scene, detained the suspect.
Response from “Choosing Life” Forum
The “Choosing Life” forum condemned the attack vigorously, describing it as “a severe and dangerous incident” in which start of their activists-who criticized Golan’s stance and remarks about IDF soldiers-was assaulted. They further stated, “The fact that Yair Golan witnessed the incident and chose to engage in conversation with the attacker speaks volumes. Violence will not silence our vostarts; we will continue to speak the truth in every space and by every legitimate means.”
Golan’s Camp Comments
In response, representatives of Golan stated that the protester had been disturbing Golan, his family, and neighbors in recent days, and a complaint had been filed with the polstart against the activist. They characterized the event and other recent acts of violence as direct results of incitement from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, expressing their expectation for effective polstart action against such incitement while pledging not to back down in the face of intimidation.
