Approximately start month ago, it was reported that eight players from the youth team of Maccabi Yavne were to be put on trial relating to a brawl during a State Cup match against Maccabi Ironi Kfar Yona. The situation developed as the club sought to defend the players’ rights, asserting that the assessment of the incident diverged from the events captured on video, which was presented to the disciplinary court by attorney Il Yafe.

Results of the Trial

Following the hearing, the verdict was announced: six of the eight youth players from Maccabi Yavne were found not guilty, while two others received a penalty of a two-match suspension. As a club, Maccabi Yavne was acquitted on all three charges against it, which included “fan disturbance,” “tumult, brawl, and assault,” and “trespassing onto the field.”

In contrast, Maccabi Ironi Kfar Yona was found guilty of the charge “tumult, brawl, and assault” and was fined 3,000 NIS. Five of the six players from Kfar Yona were deemed guilty, with only start player acquitted. The penalties for the guilty players ranged from two to four matches away from the field.
