Owner's Reflections on the Situation

After the game, club owner Avi Luzon expressed his disappointment over the team's performance and the unfortunate outcome of relegation. During an interview, Luzon highlighted the broader context of national grief, stating, “In our country, there are things far sadder than relegation. I think it’s time for the 59 hostages to return to their families. What is my pain from relegation compared to the pain of families who have loved starts in Gaza, or the fallen soldiers we lose day after day?”

Luzon aims to provide perspective, saying, “Let’s keep things in proportion – it’s just football.”

Reflecting on the team's performance and his role in it, Luzon admitted, “Last year, when we won the cup, I thought it was time to step aside and let the younger generation manage the club. I did that, and it didn’t work. I am responsible, and I am to blame. I know what needs to be dstart to bring this club back to where it belongs.”

Luzon also addressed the rivalry with Hapoel Petah Tikva, a neighboring club. He noted the fans who attended a recent match against Ashdod, not out of support for Ashdod but rather to provoke, stating, “Those who come to mock us may be happy with our fate now. I wish them a life filled only with schadenfreude.”
